I grew up on a jersey cow farm in rural, northeast Indiana. Even though I had a great family and succeeded by all measures in school and sports, I made mistakes that almost cost me my life. It took an act of God to turn my life around. I am a single mom, with a beautiful daughter in high school, still living on the family farm. It is now my mission in life to help Generation Z and Millennials overcome depression, anxiety, and addiction and find purpose by sharing how I found unconditional love and hope in Jesus so that they will also find hope, feel his love and seek His purpose for their lives.
Acts 20:24 But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Purdue University. I spent 15 years in education. Out of those 15 years, I spent 6 of those years in alternative education, ending my education career as campus coordinator of a Christian alternative school. During 5 of my years teaching, I also coached basketball and softball.
After leaving education, with a friend I started a non-profit ministry called Reason 4 Hope in 2011. Reason 4 Hope is my time as director, I became certified in Mental Health First Aid for Youth, Suicide Prevention and helping teens who have experienced trauma.
I began speaking in churches in 2007, sharing my testimony. By 2010, I started serving a church in Elkhart giving a monthly message. Over the last 13 years, I have been filling pulpits, speaking at schools and youth groups, and providing messages at conferences.
In January of 2019, I started at Wheaton College pursuing Masters in Evangelism and Leadership. This was quite a leap of faith for me! I graduated in May of 2022 - yay! I am passionate about sharing with others that they can find and know love and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. I want people to know they are not alone in their struggles and that, together with Jesus, we can overcome and find purpose.
"Jamelle is the fresh air your congregation or event needs for an honest, inspiring Bible teacher that's not filled with fluff. Her devotion to those hurting and without Christ drives her passion to share the gospel and challenge believers in Christ with authentic, relevant faith. Her own journey with addiction and brokenness makes her love for Christ compelling and inspires audiences to get serious about their faith."
-Brenda L. Yoder, Speaker, Counselor, and author of Fledge: Launching Your Kids Without Losing Your Mind
" Our congregation enjoyed your service on Sunday. They could relate to the message and their need to do better with their choice of words."
